Help on choosing a booking
process and accepting / taking payments
with Bookings4-u.co.uk
There are two options available when considering the steps a guest takes to record a reservation (as automatically accepted or as an enquiry that needs confirming) and when/how to take the deposit (or all) of the reservation amount.
NOTE: Whichever option is chosen, please test the booking process to make sure it is the correct choice and coresponds to your ironclad Cancellation Policy / Terms & Conditions.
These options can be chosen by (from the main menu) clicking on
- [Edit Your Booking Areas] -> [Business]
- and clicking on the 'Payments' tab
- At the footer is the 'Booking Process Option Available' options
Accept online bookings as an enquiry that needs confirming (Default Option)
The default option is to allow the guest to progress through the steps of making a booking and when the guest has finished, he/she gets an email stating that the reservation request has been made (a type of provisional booking). This provisional booking is then viewed and accepted or rejected by you (as the member and owner of the establishment).
At the point of acceptance, the terms and conditions / contract is 'effectively sealed' and if chosen, any payments (eg deposit) involved.
Note: If PayPal / BACS / etc payment options are offered, the acceptance email will display them.
Accept online bookings as a confirmed reservation straight away
With this option chosen, after the booking steps are completed, the reservation is accepted automatically as confirmed and payment options offered (if set up).A confirmation email is also sent to the guest.
You (as the member and owner of the establishment) will be asked to acknowledgement the reservation to make sure it was not overlooked.
